I think my book is about a world wide suicide epidemic that is taking over. They want to keep society in check so if “the takers” see any sign of depression they are shipped away to a mental institution. The institution wipes all of the memories they used to have and who they used to be. They are basically an empty shell of who they were. What has really surprised me so far in the book is that “the takers” don’t care what happens to the person they are taking they show no sign of respect or restraint against the person. I think that the people who go in are brain-washed and what they think is making them better is really corrupting their minds. When they get out, with no memory they do not know what to do. If they had remembered anything they would have told everyone and the hospitals would have been closed down.

So far I think the book is great it’s really interesting and grabs my attention. I think I like it because I can kind of relate to it. What really surprises me is that Sloane, Miller, and James will really do anything no matter how big of a risk it is. What I think will happen next is that Sloane, Miller, and James will all find a plan to try and help Lacey remember who she was and get her out of the program.

  3. The book really grabs you attention, it can relate to a lot of high schoolers problems. School, depression, relationship problems etc. If there was any one thing that I think people would relate to is the whole depression aspect of the book. It really makes you want to keep reading and never put the book down. If you were to put yourself into the shoes of Sloane or James it would be really hard to survive. Most of the book has been sad so far, a mix of crazy emotions and action.

I think this book really touches on some important issues. Everyone says they want to help everyone else but how often do they ask /how/ they should help? People typically come up with what /they/ think will make things better without running it by anyone else, without asking the people it actually effects. People can easily make a situation worse. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. "What if instead of just bringing that darkness to the light, we're creating it?"-Chiyuki(Death Parade)
